OH MY! We have discovered Stone Coat Countertops! A few weeks ago, we decided to refurbish our mini kitchen in the basement. It was really out-dated and needed some help! We figured sanding down and staining the cupboards would be a great start.

Well, you know what happens when you start a house project, right? It leads to other projects! The cupboards looked so good, it made the shabby formica counter tops look especially icky! So, after quite a bit of research, we turned to Stone Coat Countertops. We were so excited to get started that we actually drove to Wolf Creek, Oregon to get the product!
Stone Coat is an epoxy resin mix that you can mix to look like marble or granite, or any other thing you have a taste for- but can’t afford! It’s a reasonably priced product, and very easy to use! We were jazzed!
We started by making a sample tile, just to get used to the product.

Here’s the countertop in progress…
Here’s the finished project:

We are pretty jazzed about the results… so much, that we refinished our bathroom countertop too!
I love the look of these but am really concerned about durability. Will it hold up to heat and scuff?
